Ankit Vishwakarma / Software Engineer, Mumbai

I build thewhole machine.

Web, mobile, backend and cloud. Real products for real businesses, from the first screen a customer sees to the server it runs on.

How I work

Every layer changes the one next to it. So I work on all of them.

  • Clean architecture

Decisions the next feature won’t have to undo.

  • Secure and maintainable

Systems a team can keep changing safely.

  • Tuned in production

Performance measured on real business workloads.

The system

The Engineering Stack

Six layers that make up a complete product. Scroll to take it apart, and pick any component to see what it does, what it connects to, and where it shipped.

The system

The Engineering Stack

Six connected layers, from interface to infrastructure. Tap any component to see what it does, what it connects to, and where it shipped.

Selected work

Five systems.
All of them real.

A single-codebase inventory and commerce platform with its bundle apps, a finance app with Tally ERP integration and automated GST reminders, a custom NVR video pipeline, a multi-role service platform and a time-slot booking platform. Each case says what I built and how it works, with numbers where I have them.

Custom NVR-Based CCTV Cloud Storage & AI-Driven Automation System

Google Drive integration

Install it on an old laptop and it records the camera to the local drive and to free Google Drive storage, with no vendor NVR in the chain. Failure recovery runs on PostgreSQL metadata.

Experience the pipeline (opens in a new tab)
  1. 01

    IP camera

Live CCTV stream over RTSP. A wire carries it to the router, and the camera is addressed by its IP.

  2. 02

    Old laptop

Install my software and connect the camera. It is the custom NVR, and its own drive holds the footage and the backend.

  3. 03

    FFmpeg + HLS

Footage is taken using HLS and FFmpeg. FFmpeg handles real-time stream processing, segmentation and compression.

  4. 04

    PostgreSQL metadata

Tracks each video segment, so uploads stay sequential and data stays consistent across interruptions.

  5. 05

    Google Drive API

The same data goes up in sequence, across 2 or 3 merged Google accounts: large cloud storage, for free.

  6. 06

    Next.js frontend

All footage and its timeline, from cloud or local. If the local drive dies, what reached Drive is safe.

On failure: retry in sequence from the PostgreSQL metadata

Install it on an old laptop and connect the camera: FFmpeg takes the footage over RTSP, and the laptop's own drive holds it and the backend, with no vendor NVR in the chain. The same data then goes to the Google Drive API in sequence, with PostgreSQL holding the metadata, across 2 or 3 merged Google accounts for large, free cloud storage. A Next.js frontend shows all footage and its timeline from cloud or local, and if the local drive dies, what reached Drive is safe.

Install
The user installs my software on an old laptop and connects the camera. It is a custom NVR (Network Video Recorder), with no vendor-specific NVR system in the chain.
Local storage
Footage and the backend sit on the laptop's own drive, taken from the camera with FFmpeg over RTSP.
Networking
Bandwidth optimization and latency handling on the IP camera streams.
Processing
Footage is taken using HLS and FFmpeg. FFmpeg handles real-time stream processing, segmentation and compression.
Metadata
Video segments are tracked in PostgreSQL. Uploads take their order from that metadata, and retries start from it, so data stays consistent across interruptions.
Upload
The same data goes up in sequence through the Google Drive API, with scheduling, retry logic and failure handling.
Cloud storage
2 or 3 Google accounts merge into one large pool of free cloud storage. If anything happens to the local drive, what reached Google Drive is safe.
Frontend
A Next.js frontend shows all footage and its timeline, from cloud or local, whenever the user wants.
Tooling
I used generative AI tools to accelerate debugging, reverse-engineering of APIs and system optimization.

Process

How an idea becomes a deployed product.

01

Architecture

I separate what stays shared from what varies per client.

codebasebrand Abrand Bbrand C

From I2OC GoldAU Silver, I2OC Gold's bundle app, builds iOS and Android from one Flutter codebase. Per-client variation lives in unique bundle IDs, Kotlin for dynamic configuration and Git branches for client-specific instances.

02

Development

Different users get their own portal. I built one each for customers, pilots and admins.

customerpilotadminRESTMySQL

From AerialBorneAerial Borne separates customers, pilots and admins: a customer portal on RESTful APIs with integrated payments, a pilot portal with JWT and media in AWS S3, and an admin panel on Node.js, Express.js and MySQL.

03

Deployment

I automate the path to a release.

gitCI/CDfastlanebetastores

From I2OC GoldAU Silver iOS builds go to TestFlight and production through CI/CD with Fastlane. A new brand's website goes live automatically from company data.

04

Problem-solving

Transfers get interrupted. I track video segments in metadata so uploads can recover.

uploadsent?storedretry

From CCTV pipelineThe CCTV pipeline tracks video segments with PostgreSQL metadata, so a failed upload retries in sequence.

About

The person behind the machine.

I’m a Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience building products across web and mobile. I take single-codebase platforms from architecture to release, with Claude and MCP tools in my workflow. I build things using my creativity, at its peak, to enhance the user experience and take every product one step ahead.

At MInSysT Consulting Pvt Ltd, I lead full-stack development across frontend, backend and Flutter, manage a team, drive architecture decisions and oversee testing through TestFlight. I built I2OC and I2OC Gold, the main inventory products, on Vue.js with a single-codebase architecture, and their bundle apps: mShop on I2OC, and AU Silver on I2OC Gold, where one Flutter codebase produces per-client iOS and Android apps, alongside a Next.js store on Node.js, Express and PostgreSQL. For the XCIBIL finance app, I integrated Tally ERP over XML-over-HTTP and automated GST reminders with OAuth-based APIs.

Single-codebase platforms
On I2OC and I2OC Gold, a client picks the product, then runs it global on the platform or local on their own server. They fill in company data and the brand’s website goes live on a subdomain or their own domain, with a payment gateway, inventory, and an admin panel for products, sales and analytics. Website within 2 days, app within 2 weeks. It may differ. On AU Silver, I2OC Gold’s bundle app, each client app gets a unique bundle ID, with Kotlin for dynamic configuration and Git branching for client-specific instances.
3D website design
I design and build scroll-driven 3D websites with Three.js and React Three Fiber. This site is the proof: a 3D skill stack and two walkthroughs that run on phones, with quality that steps down on slow devices and a version without 3D for the rest.
AI-assisted development
I develop with Claude, Cursor and MCP tools, and use agentic AI workflows for automation. On the CCTV system, generative AI tools sped up debugging, reverse-engineering of APIs and system optimization.
Mobile release
I build Flutter apps with SDK integrations and run the release: Xcode for all iOS apps, Fastlane CI/CD for iOS TestFlight and production builds, go-live scheduling, and publishing through Google Play Console and the App Store.
Cloud and delivery
I deploy on AWS (EC2, S3, load balancing), Cloudflare and DigitalOcean, and automate with AWS Lambda and CI/CD. Clients who run local get the product and database shipped to their own server with Docker and licensing.
Systems and video pipelines
I engineered custom CCTV software that runs on an old laptop: FFmpeg takes the footage over RTSP to the local drive, then the same data goes to the Google Drive API in sequence, with retry, across 2 or 3 merged Google accounts. PostgreSQL metadata keeps it in order across interruptions, and a Next.js frontend shows the timeline from cloud or local.
